Community Action Dacorum

Dacorum CVS (working name Community Action Dacorum) was established in 1947 with the view to helping the local community. It has carried on with this ethos and have added number of other services to benefit the local community and the groups. We believe in bringing people together to achieve more in their communities and improve quality of life. To fulfil this we deliver a range of services, supporting adults through learning for work and leisure, specific programmes to support people into or towards employment, addressing language gaps with an interpreting and translation service, ShopMobility, Community Transport, Repair Shed addressing isolation and reuse of materials, providing advice to community groups and promoting active citizenship, a CSR project to enable companies to positively engage and Radio Dacorum to communicate positive news. We have 40 staff and 130 volunteers who are active in promoting and delivering our work.

What we do at a local level we take it to European level and are involved in a range of transnational projects funded through the Erasmus+ Programme.
